i heard that frat parties on campus are free, is this true? and that kids from other schools in the area come to penn for parties?

10 dollar cover charge for squares and nerds

not bad, around 5-7 would have been better, but 10 is not bad

i was joking. personally I’ve been to one frat party at penn, as a guest of a brother of the host fraternity, and didn’t pay, though i can’t speak for all frat parties. generally i believe that the organization hosting the party can charge whatever they want, so there’s no flat cover charge. the party i attended was free, but an off-campus party could charge 20 bucks for cover if they wanted.

and yes it is definitely true that people come from other colleges.

…oh…it was a joke…

anways…how are frat parties at Penn generally compared to general college expectations?

On campus frat parties are free. At a registered party you might have to give a few bucks for a wrist band if you’re under 21. Some weekends more than others there are a few more Drexel students on campus for our parties, but nothing too bad.

Parties are free… charging for parties makes potential violations much worse if they need to be broken up by the police (granted the police never come, but yeah). For registered parties, there is a specific way of getting in, which you should ask once on campus.
