Freaking out like hell! :( Is anybody on my boat?

I don't know if any-body will mind replying to this post but I am posting anyways, because I am too anxious about the college thing and I need some consolation. I am not a 4.0 GPA -er. I got an awful 3.80. SAT - 2000 (on the threshold :( :( ). TOEFL-91 (ouch!) ECA- Only this is the one I am quite confident about. Essay is okay-ish, I guess. Guys, do you think I will get into a college with such a bad statistics? Can anybody relate to me?

dude/dudette, chillax. You’ve got pretty decent SATs. 3.80 is Not horrible. That’s not bad statistics, it’s pretty decent.

Chill.

Who on this universe says GPA of 3.80 and SAT Score of 2000 as AWFUL? If you have done your A levels, it at least means Straight A’s ( 3.75 means straight A’s in my college),and if you have done +2, it means distinction, at least, I guess. What better do you want when you have A’s or highest division with ECAs that you are very confident about. 2000 in SAT from country like ours is a “pat on back” result. TOFEL could be one deterrent factor, but I can make sure there are tons of colleges which do not require TOFEL, if you 600 or above CR, or b or above grade in English Language or have spent two years of high school in English Environment.

Write one heck of the essay and engaging supplements. Research -research and research colleges, there are many colleges that provide good aid to international students apart from the traditional ones like Grinell, Carleton, Bates, Colby, Trinity and so forth.Do not be over- AMBITIOUS and at the same time do not undermine yourself as you are doing now.

There are many people in your boat and they are hopeful, and I am one of them.

Sixstringsrocker - Thanks myan! But, it’s ‘pretty decent’ not ‘a good one actually’. So. Let’s just see.

Batuli, I got As but not A*s. And, I couldn’t secure 600+ in CR. Initially, I had put Colby in my list but I chickened out. Only a few such top-notch colleges in the list. Like you said, I need to be more confident now.

I am cheered up now. Thanks guys!
