One girl at my school has started collecting likely letters from schools we both applied to....but I am almost 100% sure I'm more qualified than her (that sounds conceited, yea, but I wouldn't say it unless I was positive)

If she got a likely letter and I didn't, does that mean I'm going to be rejected?!?!

I'm not sure whether one of the schools she got a likely from was Yale... but I think it was one of the ivies

You're freaking about someone else's likely letter you're not sure is from Yale or not? "More qualified" IS a conceited thing to say... in the end I'd rate the tone/vibe the application gives as the single most valuable factor to acceptance. Not scores, GPA, or alleged strength of ECs.

wellllll, excuuusee me for being a little "on edge" these days waiting to hear about my top choice school. Take some chill pills? Easy for you to say considering you were accepted 4months ago.

just because I say one conceited thing does not mean that the tone of my application gave off a certain vibe - I seriously doubt that the admissions people were reading my app and thinking "oh this girl is so arrogant"

Basically even though you may be more qualified. She might have better recs, better essays, or SIMPLY she can BRAG more than you.

On college apps you need to be a lawyer. Make a kitten seem like a tiger, without lying of course. Admissions officers definitely do not spend hours on ur applications reading over every little detail.
