I've been getting a string of free campus invites/applications lately, just wondering if everyone is getting these too...

I got a few of those too, but I didn't get them until the fall. Are you a student of color? I got a lot of free invites because those colleges were really trying to increase diversity by trying to attract more people of color.

I got em and Im white. I live in Florida and have been getting stuff from Michigan State and Indiana U. Strange.

What do you mean free campus invites? The school pays for your trip?

I have not been getting any of these since I'm a rising college freshman not a rising high school senior >_>

Yeah I've started to get those emails, too. I actually started a thread about one of the emails I received:

sammyjankis91, yeah, well the one I posted above ^^ about Williams sasid that they'll pay for my flight, accomodations, etc.

yeah... they're completely free, and I'm Asian (Chinese). I got one from Williams College too, and Swarthmore, Wesleyan, and a few others.

Wow you guys hit the jackpot!

UChicago sent me an invitation to their summer open houses. I sent the invite back to them, with a note that said,"Thanks for the invite. Will you pay for the plane ticket?" . Oddly enough, I haven't gotten a response....

Wait, I haven't gotten any free invites. That's pretty cool.

Yeah, I already applied for a trip to Macalester (it's like four days, FO FREE) and also got a postcard from Swarthmore telling me too look out for their free trip application.

Oh and yeah, student of color (latino) here.

I didnt get any free visits until AFTER I got accepted. I feel gypped.

...hahah, I delete all my college mail without ever opening them - they go straight to the bin.

Oops?

Butternut, do you think it's possible that they got offended by your question? How long ago did you send it? Why didn't you call them and ask?
