Question about cell phones..I'm sure a lot of you people go away for school..How do you switch the area code on your cell phone so that it is based out of wherever you currently reside? (college area during the school year and home town during the summer)..Is it possible to just easily switch it?..I will be staying in Canada, just a different province.

How stupid. I just keep mine the same until I’m forced to part with it. It’ll confuse your friends and family and make them change your number constantly. Just keep it the same.

No I mean…I want to keep the same number but I don’t want to be paying long distance when I’m in Alberta because my phone is based out of Nova Scotia and vis vera. Is it possible?

Most service providers would consider what you’re requesting to be a “vanity number,” and requesting a specific number, in your case a new area code plus your old number, is usually limited to businesses.

You won’t be paying long-distance O.o Do you have any idea how phones work? All it considers is hwere you made the call from and where it’s going to in most cases.

realllllllllly…I actually didn’t know that…I always thought that your plan was based out of area A and if you were in area B (a different area code than area A) and called someone within area B it would be long distance because your plan is based out of area A. Learn somthin new every day I guess.

Where’s the cake?

He lied.

The cake is a… Oh nevermind.

I think he’s worried about roaming charges, IE if you leave a certain service area you end up paying a lot more. My current plan doesn’t have that on it, try asking someone at the place you got your phone.

Look into Google Voice. It might be helpful for you.

Delicious cake.

aww. tricked again! :(
