Does anyone know if UCLA is a qualifying school for the free Office 365 download for students?
Nope. When you were at orientation, you should have gotten one of those ads for a cheaper 4 year Office subscription. Although that doesn’t meant that they’re NOT giving free Office, but it implies that we’ll have to buy it ourselves.
I already bought my D a 4 year subscription for 70 bucks on amazon, but I googled free Office 365 and found a microsoft link where you put your university email address in; I put in a fake email with @g.ucla.edu and it looked like it was going to work. Good luck.
Based on my google searches, it appears UCLA has offered it in the past. I had my son go through the steps at Microsoft, however at the end, it said something about the email address not being approved. This led me to think maybe freshman email addresses hadn’t been added yet. I think I’ll wait it out a bit longer before buying the subscription.
This may help (?)
