Names of summer programs or programs that cost very little. Thanks.

Most free programs are very hard to get into (RSI, TASP, etc.). Do you have high stats and high accomplishments? There are also some programs for underrepresented minorities (URMs) that are pretty inexpensive or close to free. I’d suggest that instead of looking at summer programs if you are low income, read the book “How to be a High School Superstar” by Cal Newport. It will give you some thoughts on finding your own brand of summer experience/EC that will both help you deepen your background in your areas of interest, and stand out from other high school students.

If you live in the Bay Area, Stanford Earth Sciences Internship.

It also depends on what grade you’re in. The most variety is available for rising seniors, especially in programs that cost under 4000 bucks.

Many programs offer financial aid, however.

The Princeton Summer Journalism Program is free, and geared towards low-income students: http://www.princeton.edu/sjp/
Look into PAN (Physics of Atomic Nuclei); there are two different sections at MSU and Notre Dame. The program lasts one week and is completely free except for potential travel costs. I attended this past summer, so ask me if you have any questions.
