Do anyone knows about any free summer schools, preferaby engineering programs?

I'm stuck here, because my parents have no money to pay for them, but I am really interested in doing a summer program. Even if it's not free, I'd be glad if you could name some that offers need-based financial aid (to international students).

Thanks!

I'd like to know also (but I'm not limited to engineering)

Though they are not free, the CUNY system and the SUNY system in New York has a relatively low cost tuition rate, even for non-residents. Some of the CUNY and SUNY campuses offer a full slate of courses during the summer.

If you have a friend or relative in the metro New York City area whom you can bunk with you can take advantage of CUNY, since housing in NYC is quite pricey.

Alternatively, the large SUNY campuses, Buffalo, Albany, Stony Brook have dormitories and are located in regions of New York State that are much less expensive than NYC. Check their websites.

Thanks Lake.

Are those programs residential??

try the programs from

all the ivyleague colleges/top colleges, they give great financial.
eventhough it seems expensive ~ 10,000. They pretty much cover everything if you apply early enough.

The CUNY (City University of New York) campuses are not residential. The SUNY (State University of New York) campus are all residential with dormitories.

do you just wanna take courses? Since you can always apply to a CC during the summer... they have very cheap classes.

Or are you looking to stay at some campus and do something all summer?

I just want to do a program that can let me get some fundamental understanding of engineering (or specifical parts of engineering).
I have to do residential ones, since I don't live in the US.
Cornell says financial aid is "limited" and my mom will only pay up to $1000 though.
Besides, I hope to get in a program that's ends in July.
June10~July29 would be the appropriate time for me :)

Also, I think CCs are usually non-residential?

Thanks for those great suggestions, any more advice?
