Have you heard about the free test preparation ereader book promotion? I don't know if this is a problem listing the name of the company. I hope not.

Since most of us spend way too much money on testing and test prep and score reports and such, it's nice to have some free resources for our kids (or ourselves.) There are books on SAT, ACT, SAT Subject tests, AP, MCAT, LSAT, GRE, GMAT and other titles. There are 130 titles in all. I think I downloaded 3 dozen of them, myself!

I downloaded them to my kindle, but you can do it for the Nook and the Ipad. Search by the name "Kaplan" for free titles. Offer lasts a few more days.

Too bad, your per diem post count is suffering. Soon it will be down to a few thousands per day.

Word had gotten out but in an indirect way. What is there not to like about free books? The biggest benefit is to be able to check out the value of a book without sitting in a bookstore or taking a risk. It is a smart move to DL a bunch of them.

I tried the Kaplan Writing SAT book, and I have to admit that the e-reader version is entertaining with its immediate correct/incorrect. This said, Kaplan still suffers from its old symptoms. But at that price point, the “caveat emptor” is superfluous.

I just read in an article that these downloads were only going to be available through 1/17. If you are even considering downloading, I’d do it now. Your student can download the free app to their computer, make an account and download the guides. You can always delete later.
