Brown will admit RI residents who are students at Tulane, Dillard, and Xavier as “special students” for a semester with free tuition, while their school and cities in LA are rebuilt

I think I might be joining y'all in Brown. My girlfriend and I are getting an off-campus apartment for the semester if Brown let's us in.

What's the deal with letting us in, though, do we need to "academically qualify" or is it simply I fill out the application (which I did) and send it in, they contact me, and I register for classes? I don't know if anyone knows, but any help would be appreciated.

I'm going down to the school tomorrow to speak with admissions. It says Rhode Island residents only, but I'm the first town over the Massachusetts border, so I could commute if need be.
Plus, if I get an apartment, then "technically" I'm a Rhode Island resident, right?

Simmons said the University will now be able to do far more than it had originally planned, such as providing assistance with housing, meals and books for students with demonstrated financial need, and supporting a variety of other activities to enhance Browns assistance program.
