Currently we do not have a French club at our school, so I'm thinking about starting one. To all members of this site who are members of a french club, what do you do in your clubs? How often do you meet? Any input would be appreciated.

at my school. we have meetings once a month. One activity we do is that we go to a french resturant in our area and try to get members to try escargot.. not very effective for less brave people. We also had a movie night were we watched a english movie thats pretty popular (van helsing..dont ask.. it was halloween and we werent allowed to bring R rated films) and turned it to the french track, i think we had englsih subtitles on though for french 1,2 student's sakes. so you can try those activites if you have french restuarnt in your schools area.

Hey! I started a French club at my school last year. I'm glad someone else is. :)

What we do: meetings once a week (or once every 2 weeks), about 1/2 hour each (on average).

What my club does:
-provides a tutoring service to kids who need help in French classes
-we go to French cultural activities (such as: a French film, a French restaurant, if there are any French events going on around town, etc.)
-we talk about French politics and culture, just for fun discussions, and to improve our speaking skills (since we hold all meetings and events etc. in French)

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask! :D

thanks so much for replying! :)
Yeah great suggestions! Thanks calidan! I think I'll your activities, if you don't mind :)

m3ssi: It's actually a pretty good idea to watch an American movie with French track. That way, people who don't understand French very well won't be discouraged from joining and/or participating.
