New Club President?

I recently joined this club at school aptly called the "French Club." It's really disorganized and all the people do in it is talk and eat pizza. My French teacher who began it lamented about the fact that she didn't have any officers because they all dropped out and so I offered to be President since I absolutely love French, haha. It's one of my strongest classes. Anyway, how do I go about turning the club around? I plan on talking to her Monday about what needs to be done, but I'm a bit nervous. I'm new to the school (junior, sigh) and I don't know the other club members that well. Really, I would love to see the club become something more than just a place to eat pizza and mess around.

Also ... for people in language clubs, what exactly do you do?

Establish meetings, like every other thursday...and make sure you show up for them.

During the meetings, plan fun actvities. For us, there was a french musical, so we went to that, there was a french independent movie, so we planned on that, we also went to a french restaurant (very expensive, so watch for that), had a couple fondue parties, and had a guest speaker.

These were all planned for outside of class, so just make each french meeting a few minutes to discuss the next activity, costs, transportation...things like that.

Thanks for the information. :) I probably would've never thought of that!
