Fresh Year Psat- How to improve my score

I'm a freshmen and yes I know no one like freshy's on CC asking about PSAT, but I reallly want to improve and i'm looking for advice. So, everyone better not BS me about how freshman year people shouldnt really care and they should get off the boards, and wait till sophmore year because I dont plan to wait that long. :)

So my question is what books and online material do you recommend for me to use to be able to achieve my goals????

I got a 156 overall on the PSAT- (Yes, I know a terrible score....but oh well, I plan to Improve.)
47 in math
57 in reading
52 in writing
The reason I want to improve is to get the National Merits, and basically thats the only reason...oh yea...also to get better at the SAT too:)

So... i'm wondering how can I improve my math to the mid 70's. I have already taken Algebra 1 and I am halfway done with geometry right now.

In reading I want to improve also to the mid 70's..maybe even perfect 80.

And in writing I also want to improve in the mid to high 70's.
So my OVERALL goal is to get a 220-240.

So my question is what books and online material do you recommend for me to use to be able to achieve my goals????
I just purchased "The RocketReview" yesterday via Amazon.
BTW I took a PR practice Test which came with the course that I bought From Princeton called PSAT online workout course, and It told me I got a score of 175...a 20 point improvment!! (but my math improved only 2 points):(
BUT I dont know how accurate the PR PSAT tests are though...

Also some books and programs I've heard about are (Gammatix, the rocketrevolution, Gruber's math workbook, and some other I don't remember right now)

Thanks in advance to everyone who replies.

You’re a freshman, don’t worry about scores just yet. For a little perspective: I scored a 175 on my sophomore year PSAT and a 219 on my junior year PSAT. Also, I scored a 2360 on the actual SAT senior year (with perfect scores on the math and reading sections).

Essentially what I mean is you will develop your skills naturally as the years go on. Study for your classes and get good grades right now.

There’s really no point prepping for the math section right now if you haven’t completed Geometry. All you really need is a few months before the SAT to familiarize yourself with the test and review concepts that you already learned.

For writing/critical reading, if you really are adamant about studying for the SAT nonstop for the next 2 and a half years, I guess you could get your hands on a ton of practice tests and read through passages and see if you understand enough to answer the questions. But really, your reading comprehension is a skill that will improve a lot over the next couple of years without any deliberate practice. Might as well just read some interesting books you like and boost your CR/WR scores without thinking about it.

You can buy a workbook on vocabulary and work a bit everyday. That way you do not have to cram 1000+ words in a month.
