freshman 2012 schedule

This is my scedule for the fall semester:

Bio 102
Multivariable Calculus
American Politics
Philosiophy 101

Total credits: 18.

what do you think of this schedule?

Sounds good to me, although I don’t know how hard your philosophy class will be. Some are easy but others, like at my school, are really intense. I’d just watch your work load and keep on top of things.

18 credits is generally too much for a first semester. However… 4 classes doesn’t usually equal 18 credits. What is the normal credit load at your college?

haha whoops. i forgot intro to lit.

Wow, you’re taking 5 hard classes your first semester? I took seven, but three were incredibly easy, then I had math and science like you - it was a little tough. Doesn’t your school require some sort of first year seminar?

You need to drop one of those classes. It’s too much for a freshmen. Stick to 15 or less credits.

I don’t know. Your class schedule doesn’t sound too terrible to me.

I am curious how it ends up being 18 credits with only five classes. How many hours is your Bio class and why are you taking Bio 102 as a freshman?

Anyways, 18 hours is usually a lot for a freshman, but you’re only taking 5 classes. What’s the norm at your school? At my school, your schedule would only be 16 hours and a pretty typical schedule.

Im takin bio 102 because i ap tested out of bio 101. only 15 credits as a freshman?

Yes, only 15 credits as a freshmen. You need to give yourself time to adjust to the new environment, new workload, new freedom, etc.

That just seems like its no much

Is your tuition fixed for up to 18 (or some number) of credits. If so I see no problem with sticking with all of these classes for the time being, and then dropping one if you find you cannot handle it. However, if you’re paying by credit I would go with others have said and drop one now, as many would have trouble with it.

However, if you’re really sure you can handle it, stick with it. You’re a better judge of your own abilities than any of us are.

“I am curious how it ends up being 18 credits with only five classes.”

That’s definitely possible. Last semester my five courses added up to eighteen credits (three 4-credit classes, two 3-credit classes).

OP, I would drop one class and stick with the standard 15-credit load. It’s better to take things a little easier during the first semester instead of being overwhelmed, and you’ll want some time to adjust, socialize, and explore things on campus.
