I was wondering if you thought this schedule i signed up for the other day is good enough for a first semester or i should add another class. This adds up to 14 credits.

American Politics
Intro to Literature
Organic Chem I
Biology 102

Thanks

It depends. Are you working or doing any extra activities? Do you thrive when you’re really busy or do you prefer a more laid back approach to school, with extra time for other things? Some people actually do a lot better when they take higher credit loads because they find that they procrastinate less with limited free time. Others get too stressed out with more than the standard 14-16 credits.

Personally, I think you should keep your schedule as it is and only take four courses for the first semester. It would give you the chance to get used to college work and figure out how much you can handle. If you are interested in another course, you do have the option to drop one of your classes within the first week or two without any penalty (no W or impact on your GPA) if you discover you have too much (I believe this is true at most colleges, though you might want to check to make sure).

You’re taking ochem as a freshman? Don’t add any more classes. Ochem is one of those beasts that should be tackled with as few other classes as you can possibly take.

Sparkles, it really depends on the student. I know some who find Organic Chem a lot easier than general Chem.
