Freshman Admissions Art Requirement

Hi,

I am wondering if Graphic Communications/Graphic Design classes can be used to fulfill the art requirement for freshman admission.

Also, the requirements page specifies that the art course should be a 1-year course. So, would two separate semesters of art fulfill this requirement?

Lastly, if an art class is taken after I submit my application will it be counted toward the requirement?

Thank you

For California high schools, you can check http://doorways.ucop.edu for whether the course fulfills art or any other a-g requirement. Yes, senior year courses can be counted toward the a-g requirements.

I’m out of state, but it looks like Graphics works. If I took a semester of Graphics two different years would that meet the requirement?

You should ask the admission office directly.

Both my sons took a Graphic design class to fulfill the UC art requirement but we are in-state and the course was UC approved.
