Freshman and Dorms

Does anyone know if freshman are given the opportunity to move in earlier than the rest of the student body or do they move in the same day as everyone else?

Also, what are good dorms on south campus?

"Good" dorms is a highly relative term. It all depends on what you're looking for, and also a bit of luck of the draw. I definitely recommend Honors dorms, but if you want a dorm where people are more likely to party more often, you might want something else.

And no matter where you go, there's some luck involved too. Even the most anti-social workaholic dorm has some wild partiers, and vice versa.

[And no matter where you go, there's some luck involved too.]

What do you mean by that?
My D is OOS and pretty social and looking for a dorm where the kids are like minded, though study time is important to her, too. Location is important to her as well.

If she can get into scholars apply for Mount Leadership Society and live in Halloran on North.

If she is Honors Bradley on South is what you're looking for it's really nice.

She's not in Honors.
Any recommendations?

As far as moving in, freshmen move in the same time as everyone else. However, students can apply to be an OWL (Ohio State Welcome Leader). Even freshmen can do it (I did). These people get to move in early (Thursday) and then help everyone else move in on Sunday. It's pretty cool and helps if you can't move in on a Sunday or something.

I live on North Campus, so I can't tell you much about South except that Bradley and Siebert are honors dorms.

Paterson is a good option if they like Bradley. The two dorms are basically in one building. I think that Morrison is the only South dorm that houses freshman with air conditioning.
