Freshman arrival and move in

I know freshman are supposed to move in on Saturday the 16th. As we are coming from way out of state, I would have to leave on Friday and I do have some other commitments on that day. If I leave on Saturday morning we will arrive on Saturday late afternoon about 4 PM, which may mean it is too late to check in. Alternatively, we can come in late Saturday evening and check in on Sunday morning. Is that OK or is there a reason that we need to be on Saturday itself or is it OK for Freshman to move in on Sunday

Also, I was planning to leave on Monday morning (I expect that Sunday will be pretty hectic). Are there going to be any activities for parents on Monday, if so I can stay back. Any advice will be appreciated as I would like to book my ticket.

Move in day is Saturday, August 17th. I would check with housing to see about moving in on Sunday. The student involvement fair is Sunday and would be a great thing for students to go to. Monday has specific activities for Freshmen including the convocation and the first year student columbus welcome. There is nothing for parents except to move the students in on Saturday. Everything else is for students. If students can be there on monday, they should. Some of these things are for freshmen and you are only a freshman once. Ohio State does a really nice job on these events! :-)

*I have known some parents to go to the convocation, but I wouldn’t. It’s for the students.

thanks

I did look at the link and you are right it appears that all programs are mainly for the students. I will call up housing on Monday and see what they say. I would assume that are at least a few kids who would like to come on Sunday. Thanks for the information.
