Freshman behavior upon returning home for Thanksgiving

My dog is getting old and my daughter is worried about him dying while she is at school. I told her that is something happens, we will wait until after graduation to tell her.

DD wasn’t able to come home for T’giving: Too far and too much $. Most of the kids at her LAC are from the region so went home for the long weekend. Last week was the first time she has told us she was homesick. We’ll have to see how it goes over the 3 1/2 weeks she is home for the winter break. We are taking a car trip to see relatives for the first portion of her break (captive!), but expect that she will be out with friends for much of the last half. She doesn’t drive, and some of her friends don’t either so I’m not looking forward to being a chauffeur again. I will probably have her buy prepaid bus tickets so she can get around during the day.

Our son is a pushover for dog pictures too.

Our dog has never been able to figure out the phone (she ignores it when you hold it to her ear) but she does get Skype! I am not sure why/how it is different. I don’t think it’s the image, because she seems to ignore that. I think the voice sounds more authentic somehow. Our son has gotten her to do tricks via Skype!

i just spent the nine happiest days i’ve had in a long time! loved every minute of S being home, cried myself to sleep Sunday night after he left :frowning: Oh well, Winter break is coming up.

Can totally relate to the pet posts, S misses them badly and worries about the older one. Yay my first post :)
