Freshman course load

@HokieKid22 This this isn’t the first time I’ve heard of Linear and Vector being dropped. One of my math professors said the same thing this semester so I know it’s true. I just don’t know when that will be taking effect. I’d contact someone in the engineering department to see if that is true or not.

@agg999 Most people don’t know any programming before coming to Virginia Tech. If you aren’t confident in your Java skills, then take the freshman Software Design course. It’s taught as if nobody knows anything.

As for the Summer after my freshman year, I pretty much played video games and picked up some development books and read them. Nothing big. You can get involved in side projects whenever you want. There isn’t a better time than now.

@CloudyCloud‌ Did you attend interview at least during your freshman year? Also, please take a look at the spatial visualization test thread that I started.

@CloudyCloud‌
Thanks. I hope it’s true haha. I already took multi which had vector geo. didn’t get credit for vector geometry for some reason so I don’t wanna do it again.

Maybe you can confirm this. You seem really sure about it.

@HokieKid22‌ Yes, the engineering curriculum changed. The details are not out but the basic gist is. Here is the website: http://www.enge.vt.edu/undergraduate/courses.html</a>
As you can see, the 2 courses are removed.

I have a related question about VT scheduling. On my course recommendation worksheet, it said “ENGLISH placement: ENGL 1106. English recommendation: Take ENGL 1106 in the spring. A grade of a C- or better will grant you credit for ENGL 1105.” Is this mean I don’t have to take ENGL 1105 in the fall?

Yes.
