Freshman Dorm Choices?

Hey I was wondering if current CAL students can give some kind of review of the available freshman dorms. There's a choice of Clark Kerr Campus, Foothill, Bowles, and Units 1-3. If you can give me back any info on each or your opinions that'd be appreciated! Thanks!

These are all the stereotypes/generalizations (though I find they hold true, as much as generalizations can)

CKC - Best dining hall on campus. Far from campus but a reasonable walk. Big suites. Lots of athletes.

Foothill - Antisocial. Up a big hill. On North Side, which is less fun than South Side. Quiet.

Bowles - All freshmen boys. Supposedly they all bond. Don't know much...

Unit 3 - Oldest of the units, most rundown. Rooms are tinier, furniture older. Supposedly the most social.

Unit 1 / 2 - pretty much the same, except that Unit 1 has a better location (on Durant, which has tons of food places) and is closer to campus. Unit 1 and 2 each have six buildings in the complex. The freshmen dorm rooms are reasonably sized, but definitely not large. Underground there's a nice computing center, mailrooms, cardio machines.

In defense of foothill:

Foothill students are social. But they are not social animals.

make sense?

The units are the most social. Foothill is quiet, very quiet. Clark Kerr has great food and lots of athletes. Stern is all female and seemed quite when I visited. Bowles is all males and I'm very scared of their showers.

Not animals? You mean like...robots?

:)

Thanks for the info guys! Is the system on a first-come first serve basis?

No, it's a lottery. UCLA is firstcome/first serve though
