Has anyone had experience living in the international dorm? Next year the dorm will be Andrews as Babcock is being renovated. Any thoughts on the experience or Andrews Hall appreciated. Thanks.

My daughter was in Andrews last year as a sophomore. It's a lovely building from the outside, but just the same-old, same-old dorm interior. The rooms seem to be slightly larger than in some other buildings. She loved her time there, because, really, it's all about friends. She roomed with or close to girls who became very near and dear to her heart, which made Andrews the most perfect place in the world for her. (In her opinion!) ... The one bad thing is that it's a three-story building with no elevator. After tearing her ACL in a soccer game and having surgery, it was really tough for her to navigate those stairs. Of course, she was on the top floor!

My experience is not really relevant now because it was so long ago, but I was one of the RAs in Andrews. Back then, I always felt it was one of the nicest dorms on campus.

i've stayed in Armington, Babcock, and Kenarden during my time there as a music camp participant. the first seemed pretty small and if you weren't careful with the bathroom window, a lot of bugs would come in. wasn't too bad though. kendarden was a little better and bigger. the lounge type area downstairs is air-conditioned and they have an elevator, which made moving stuff in really easy! babcock was my last dorm up there and my most favorite. the rooms were huge! they also had a nice wooden floor (at least my room was) and sometimes it seemed like the floor was heated. the lounge is fairly old fashioned and bordering in the edge of stuffy.

my sister-in-law ('05) i believe lived in andrews at one time, even though she's not an international student or expressed any interest in going abroad. i know one year she was in compton, another in wagner, and one year she was in a house with a few other basketball players, and i'm not sure about another year. i've heard that andrews is fairly decent and that the students who lived there were pretty happy.

Thanks lamiller2008. Just looked at the housing form. It doesn't look as if they ask what dorm you want to be in.
