Do they look at high school freshman grades?
I actually heard a couple of people say they didn't. Not sure though.

When determining your average unweighted grades for statistical purposes, freshman grades are not included. Neither are non-academic courses like gym, home ec, art, etc.

However, this is not to say that freshman grades do not matter. The admissions counselors do see your entire high school transcript and will look at freshman grades. They will not hold as much importance as junior year and mid-year senior grades, but they will be looked at.

Good luck.

So when they look at my grades in freshman year (considering i did bad) will they:
1) look down upon it
or
2) since i did very well the next 3 years, will they understand that i have improved and they will look kindly at it.

your second point is closer to fact. the counselors will look at your freshman grades, but focus on your upward trend in sophomore through senior year. improving trends are always more favorable than declines in grades or an up-and-down record.

Good luck.
