Do colleges look at Fresh year in high school?

Do Elite colleges (i.e. MIT, Stanford, Harvard, UPenn etc) look at your first year of high school? Bc if they dont my class rank goes from 10 to 2. Also my GPA goes up significantly. This is bc of a weighted GPA and I took pre-requisites my freshman year that some people took in summer school. thanks for any help.

no, not really

Nope. Not at all.

they'll see it on your transcript, but they won't use it in gpa calculation.

so even if it's not put in your gpa, it's still gonna look kinda ugly having bad grades freshman year on your transcript

actually it could work as a plus if they see it as an improvement

Please don't answer question if you really don't know the answer. Stanford does not count freshman year, your other schools do.

Let me ask you guys a question. For my freshman year classes, I also have "Accelerated Classes" on my transcript, which are 4-5 classes from Junior High that I attained credit for. (these classes are Algebra, Biology, etc. That's how I'm 1 year ahead in HS). Will they count these classes?
Also, they count all your classes right? Because in my school in NYC, we take approcimately 3 more classes (call them forced electived); I assume those also count, right?

Michigan does not count your freshman year, neither do the UC's (I think).

Harvard defintley considers freshmen year grades; at least the dean of admission told me that when I interview with him on campus.
