<p>Are freshman grades (particularly first semester) important? I'm an engineering major (I will probably go to grad school btw) and I will probably have Bs (maybe 1 C) in 2 or 3 core classes. I really feel like I know the material well, though...this slip-up is basically just due to me adjusting to college etc. How much of an effect will this have on my future education (graduate)/career? It seems like schools would be lenient about the first semester at least.
On a related note, I've heard that some grad schools disregard your first semester grades entirely...can anyone confirm/refute this?</p>
<p>Most graduate schools look at your cumulative GPA, so freshman grades are weighted the same as other grades.</p>
