1) Barrett is pretty nice, but the central location of the study lounge can be annoying. If you’re a girl on first west the tour groups may be annoying on Saturday mornings as well.

2) From what I’ve seen or heard Hunt and Taliaferro (pronounced Talliver) are decent, but they are somewhat out of the way. Being next to the Marketplace can be a nice perk in order to pick up a quick meal.

3) Jefferson Basement is Freshman, while Jefferson Third is upperclassmen substance-free housing.

I lived in Taliaferro 04-05… as you said, small dorm. It was nice b/c you knew the whole dorm, and we hung out in the lounge a ton. People would grab lunch at the MP and bring it back (sometimes we had large collections of MP trays) and eat while hanging out in the lounge. The location is solid. Far away from the frats (freshmen partying life), but next to old campus and a dining hall.

The bad part is that they are small dorms. Not many people. You know everyone, and run out of new people who live near you to meet. I didn’t feel like I knew enough people after my freshmen year, so I had to fix that sophomore year. Not only are they small dorms in terms of people, but the rooms are small as well. There’s no AC.
