Freshman in HS, Am I On the Right Track?

Currently, I am a freshman in High School (graduating year 2014) and I am wanting to know if I am on track to get accepted to NYU. I am thinking about maybe majoring in Music Business (through Tisch preferably, through the Clive Davis department) or Film (also through Tisch.)

My first sememester GPA was around a 3.77. I got all A's and 1 B (in math), but they factored my geometry credit from 8th grade into my GPA as well, and I got a B in that course.

I am currently enrolled in all Honors classes, including Honors Algebra 2, which is the math that usually juniors take at my high school. I took business principles as an elective, and I am taking journalism right now. Next year, as a sophmore, I will be taking a Mass Media Video Production class the first semester, as well as Creative Writing the second semester. I am thinking of either taking Choir or Guitar 1 (thoughts?)

I lettered in Softball this year, and I am in FBLA as well. I play competitive softball all throughout the year. I am also doing tech work for our school play. I worked the sound booth for both years in middle school as well.

I am in the pre-IB program, and am deciding if I should do AP or IB (thoughts?) I will most likely be taking the SAT, but will probably also try the ACT too.

I know I need to probably enroll in some more extracurricular activities as well.

Also, does anybody know if where you are from effects your admission into NYU? I am from the Midwest, and I was wondering if that would affect anything in any way.

I am also a white female.

Thank you to all who respond to this!
