Freshman Interview Question (USC)

So I am interviewing with admissions this weekend for USC, and I have a question... I am going to be a PR major and after googling interview tips for USC, other PR/COMM majors had posted tips about bringing in portfolios of work, newspaper clippings, any advertisements they've done, etc. I thought this was a great idea until I read the FAQ for the interview about not being allowed to bring portfolios in. Should I bring one anyways? If other people interviewing said that they brought portfolios- I want to make sure I am competitive with them. What do you guys think? (PS I e-mailed the admissions counselor at USC and asked them, awaiting a response)

Thank you guys!

I absolutely would bring in something to talk from. It may not be your whole portfolio, but one or two things is great. I always was impressed when students answered my questions by saying, Well, here is one project I worked on… and then went to show me their enthusiasm. This is true in all interviews: always have something to show and talk from. You can even ask them: Is it OK if I show you this?
