I dont have parental pressure. My parents could care less actually. And Im not rich and cant afford private counselors...1337noh4k4, I posted a lot during the summer...I do have friends, and they;re not my computer you a$$holeAnd Im not even worrying about college yet (let alone the applicaiton essays), I just know that I should get good grades because in a few years I dont wanna regret slacking off. and by the way, 8 posts takes like less than 10-12 minutes.....

Who said you had parental pressure you dumb@$$? If you aren't worried about college yet, then why the hell are you even on this site? Alright, you said 8 post takesless than 10-12 minutes... alright let's think about it. To put 8 post you need at least an hour - hour and a half because you are still scrolling through all the post and reading them and posting them when you feel like you want to say something.
Oh also, you dumb@$$, I never said you were rich or **** like that. I said I come here because i can't afford private counselors. Never said you were rich. What are you like 2 years old? Can't you read?! Get some glasses and read the last post i made again. I never said you had parental pressure or you were rich. I did say your computer was your only friend, because.. quite frankly, i looks like that's true.

Buddy, the parental pressure was refering to another posters comments, alright....u need some pills. Why am I on a college site? I am on the HIGH SCHOOL PAGE or the CAFE usually, where I talk about many things pertaining to high school and non-school related things also. And QUITE FRANKLY, I think you are seeking out conflict by being rude in your posts and you need therapy .....and its cool think what u want, but i have plenty of friends and this site is a minimal part of my life. O and because I misinterpreted the thing about private counselor in your post, you conclude that I am 2 years old??? DUMBA$$, seriously. and lastly, it DOES take about 10 minutes to write 8 posts, i type fast and i dont scroll down and read every post on the thread....

I have no problem with freshmen being on the forum, but I do have a problem with threads like this. This topic is inherently pointless because:
1. freshmen don't have high school grades which is the number one factor used in college admissions.
2. freshmen generally haven't taken any standardized tests worth noting
3. freshmen generally dont have the option of enhancing their courseloads all that much. Honors level is the best you can get and even then, options are limited.
4.freshmen rarely if ever gain leadership roles in already-established clubs/activities so the best they can get are student council positions, which are usually popularity contests anyway
5. 9th grade is the least crucial to college admissions and some schools dont even look at it.
6. There are a total of like...5 freshmen on these boards so any stat comparison would be utterly uninformative.

GreenDayFan,
YOU ARE SO COOL. (sarcasm) YOU ARE THE COOLEST GUY ALIVE BECAUSE YOU THINK YOU DISSED ME!!!

you said," Buddy, the parental pressure was refering to another posters comments, alright....u need some pills."
seriously, is that the best you can do. Really, I'll give you another shot.

edit//
you also said," ...you need therapy". HA. Alright I see. I'll give you two more tries.

You should all sit down and have a bowl of ice cream.

WHY DOES IT MATTER THAT THERE ARE FRESHMEN POSTING?

They are obviously ambitious, which is usually considered a good quality. Their posts don't affect upperclassmen, so why waste your time on it. Everyone on CC is dork(ish), but that doesn't mean that everyone is striving for Harvard, or that we are all spending all of our time doing homework. It means that we ALL care about college, no matter how old we are.

1337noh, you are acting way more immature then your younger friend, Greendayfan. Just let it go. Knocking someone on the internet is pathetic.

"You should all sit down and have a bowl of ice cream."

mmm...ice cream....

I've been homeschooled most of my life, and I'm an introvert, so my ECs are kind of lacking. However, my grades are fine, and I've already self studied 3 APs.

Self studied APs (8th grade): 5 in Calc BC, Physics B (I wasn't so hot about C), and Psychology.

This year:
Chem AP (Teacher let me skip Chem)
Bio AP (Teacher let me skip Bio)
English
MV/Diff Eq
Gym (yuck)
Comp Sci AB AP
Orchestra

SATs: 1440 (7th grade TIP)

EC-wise:
Chess Club
USACO/USABO (maybe)
Science Olympiad
Math Club
Cross Country (Upper JV, I should be varsity)
AIME?
And um... Halo/Counter Strike?

I don't want to come off as a total nerd, but I'm kind of lacking in the EC department :(.

I'm not trying to diss u okay, those were genuine suggestions...i do think you need therapy and some pills....get on that....and blythe89, i agree that freshman dont really have credentials quite yet and this thread is pointless.

I don't really see why people are so upset over freshmen posting :-/.

By the way, do math/science competitions count as ECs? Or do they just count as academics?

they count as Ecs im pretty sure

there's really no need to yell.

the freshmen should be allowed to be here... isnt this like a forum for smart people who like to do good in school? if the freshies (hahha, freshies) are ambitious, they'll get a kick out of the posts on CC. its like me on a Harry Potter Forum. i have so much fun!!!!!!!!!! woot

A lot of the sophomores still call us sevvies. It's sad.
