Freshman move-in today

Just completed helping a co-worker's D move into Rodney Hall (they were not very familiar with the campus, asked me to help them out, and I never turn down an offer to return to the UD campus). We got there a little before 9:00 am and there was no problem with campus or dorm area traffic. Coeds greeted us with waves and cheers when we turned into the Rodney complex (I thought this was a nice touch). At least this year (at least when we were there) they weren't allowing the cars to stop and unload on the curb right after you entered the Rodney dorm entrance area which did seem to speed up traffic flow. I am taking a break now after helping them to carry things to her room and allowing them to set up the room, so I thought I would just post and let people know how things started out. It is a perfect day weather-wise for moving in (clear skies, temp around 75 degrees, and relatively low humidity). Good luck to everyone else moving in. There also was a "Baby Blue" YouDee and a full size YouDee greeting people at the Starbucks after you enter the UD Bookstore (they just left).

My son is a sophomore and we moved him in early to Christiana Towers on Thursday. That went very well also, lots of helpers and carts to bring the stuff up in. My son is a Blue Hen Helper today, hope that is going well!! Good luck to everyone!!

my Niece moved into Dickenson to day and it went well. My sis in law met Baby Blue at the Starbucks/ud bookstore.

I move D into the Towers tomorrow. :)

Daughter volunteered as a Blue Hen Helper so we got to avoid the weekend madness and moved her into Brown on Thursday evening. The room is much larger that the previous one in Russell.

She said it was a fun thing to do and most of the students / parents were grateful for the assistance.

Best wishes to all students for a successful Fall semester.

We moved my S into the new Redding Hall on Thursday. It’s very nice and new and clean! Double room is not as small as I thought. It’s a very “green” environment with some cool touches like a place to fill up a water bottle in the water fountain. They are very busy meeting new people and have lots of activities. Tonight they are busing the students to Target after it closes so that they can buy anything that they need. Very cool!
