Freshman Needing Advice!

I am a Freshman, Caucasian Male. I live in Southern California, and go to a public High School.

This is my schedule, and current grades for my freshman year...

Algebra 1 [A]
Biology [A]
English 1 **
Oral Interpretation [A]
P.E. [A]
Art 1 [A]

Though, my GPA for last semester was 3.0, I am looking to get a 3.5+ this semester.

I think it is quite obvious that my problem lies within the fact that I started in High School with non-honors classes, and that I have retaken Algebra 1 due to a bad grad last year. I am also taking Geometry over the summer at a community college, if that helps at all.

As of right now, this is my one extra curricular:

Speech and Debate
[Already 9 trophies, 3 medals, a plaque, gavel, and certificate in freshman year]
[On a team of 90, I am the second best freshman, according to NFL points.]

I also think my life story about my disabled brother [he has cerebral palsy], and the two divorces in my life will help enhance my essay.

I need to know what steps to take to get into NYU, because it is my dream school.

I would like to major in Political Science, btw.

PLEASE CHANCE ME, AND TELL ME WHAT I NEED TO DO!

Bump. Please just help me out. How do I get to NYU?

umm… improve your GPA- make every effort to do that, while maintaining a somewhat rigorous schedule- take a few AP’s/honors. Also, don’t do too much outside of debate- if you want to, then do it, but as long as you can show passion in debate then that’s okay. And do comm. service and find a job/internship next few years… yeah
