Not a real huge piece of news here, but I've been hired as a summer orientation, so if any of you all end up enrolling at UM, it looks like I'll get you meet you. I'll be doing the parent orientation, so in addition to chillin w/ you peeps at night, I get to hang with your parents during the day. It doesnt' get any better. lol.

I'm excited, to say the least.
KB

how many different sessions are there? I only know of the one right before school starts.

There are numerous orientation sessions (lasting 3 days) throughout the summer. The one right before is only for international students and reg. kids who couldn't make any of the reg. orientations.

"see ya there, kb"

You're definitely going to UMich, HauckT?

A big note to all incoming freshman: GET THE EARLIEST ORIENTATION POSSIBLE. Classes will fill if you get a late orientation, so the earlier the better. Also, congrats on kb to getting some of his own political propaganda into the Daily. You'll make an awesome pres, bro.

u may also want to bring some sack lunches lol

oh d@mn, ur that guy running for MSA...too sad i just figured that out

KB, an orientation leader? Did I miss something? Wasn't KB the dude who thought ill of Michigan? hehe Seen the light have you? Good on you mate!

that's right cherry. You'd do well to vote for him. Kb's gonna revolutionize the university, just you watch.

wanted to know are there any disadvantages of going for an earlier orientation? as in i know that our ap scores wont be out, so wouldnt that be a problem in choosing our classes?

how/when do you sign up for orientation?

haha.....well....idk about revolutionize...but I'll do my best. >-D

Haha....well....there's a differance between thinking ill and seeing what could be better 'round here. I decided that instead of just sniping I'd get involved and do my part. Hence the orientation leader thing...hence the campaign for MSA etc.

There aren't really any disadvantages to early orientation...at all. You'll get paperwork from UM about orientation, but you sign up online.

KB

Usually you have a good idea on what you'll be getting on the AP tests you took. Let's say you took econ and are looking to pass out of 101 or 102 with AP. If you go to early orientation, you can think back and decide how well you really knew it. If you decide you knew it pretty well and want to move on, you just sign up for 401 and then your AP scores will confirm you knew it well. Same for deciding if you want to re-take the class because you didn't know it very well. If you sign up to re-take, your AP score probably won't be good enough to pass out of it because you didn't know the material all that well. If this still fails you can always switch classes after AP scores come in. The great part of an early orientation is that you can still change classes from home online after AP scores come in after your orientation whereas kids with a later orientation can't, so there's no disadvantage to it really.
