Freshman question: textbooks?

When do I find out what textbooks I need for the fall? And can anyone suggest any good websites to buy textbooks from?

Thanks =)

You can find them right now. Just look up the course at the BU Barnes and Noble.

Or, go to your Student Link and look at your schedule. You should find a link to “Buy Books” right under “Instructors” and “Graph” and it will automatically forward you to a page that shows all of the textbooks you need and what the prices are. They should all be available through the BU bookstore (Barnes and Noble), but you can find them at other places as well (Amazon, for instance).

You can try to get them other places, and try to get them used, but make sure you are getting what you are looking for. Use the ISBN number that is listed with the books, and make sure that your purchase has everything you need in the way of CDs that come with the book, access codes for online material, etc.

now you can also rent textbooks
here: [Textbook Rental-Barnes & Noble @ Boston University*Bookstore](<a href=“Textbook Rentals | Barnes & Noble @ Boston University”>Textbook Rentals | Barnes & Noble @ Boston University)

for buying:
you can buy directly from the bu barned & nobles store
or you can buy from
amazon.com
chegg.com
half.com

Even if a book says “required,” you MIGHT not actually need it for the course. You will definitely have the chance to go to class a few times and see if you will actually need the book before you commit to buying it.

Just something to keep in mind. I could have saved myself quite a bit of money last year on unneeded books.
