Freshman SAT Score??

Hey i was wondering if it was possible to get these certain scores up to 700's:
590- CR
570- M
530- W
Total 1690 (want to get this to be a 2200 at least)

and if so wat books i should use just to keep in mind for next year....btw that was only a practice test for fun...but still am a little worried...thankss

your screwed....

I got around that score too.
Keep practicing though.
I got around 1700s in my freshman year and i improved that score to 2070 by end of my sophomore year.
Keep it up! You can do it.

^ lol @ artofmind

Just look at the posts on this forum. Looks like the Blue book for practice tests. Study Vocab/test taking strats/math concepts. There are a whole mess of good books out there.

I think you can definetly get it up. Just going to school for the next two yers should give you a good increase. Like Taz said, just read the posts on this forum. I found Xiggis prep advice especially helpful. :)

thanks guys..
yea thats wat i was thinking i am good at math its just that i havent learned around half the math SAt yet so...
for cr by reading ill get that score up and writing i just have to practice so yea i hope i can do it..i have 2.5 years to get that score up so i am not that worried

honestly you shouldn't be taking the real SAT as a frosh. If you get a 1700 on a practice test who cares. A little bit of studying should solve.

wait your a frosh and you got those score? Their fine for frosh...maybe a little weak but PLENTY of time to work on it

just have to get started a little early

Those scores are alright, but you're going to have to work hard to improve them. You've probably learned everything you need for reading and writing already, the poor math score is understandable. I think its good to get a sense of where you stand - I'm a sophomore soon-to-be junior taking the SAT/ACT for the first time the last couple weeks. It's good to have an indicator. Unfortunately, it looks like you have a lot of work to do. You've got plenty of time, though!

lol yeaa idk y i did so bad i have been taking PSAT's and getting 217-225 but i sucked on this test.....but then again i was sitting on my bed listening to music while doing this test so its not rlly a measure of my capability....(i hope)

Oh, that was just a practice test? That's a relief.

I think the testing atmosphere can definitely change your results for the better. You'll be more focused and more concerned with your answers. A practice test isn't the best gauge of your ability. I'd recommend taking the actual SAT sometime your sophomore year to get a better feel for it.
