freshman schedule question!

<p>i am an incoming freshman with a nutrition major in the college of natural sciences, however i intend on transferring to the college of nursing after freshman year. because i am in natural sciences this year, i had to take the ALEKS math placement test and got placed in integral calculus (i got an 85 on the test). my question is, the prereqs for nursing (that i have to complete if i want to successfully transfer) do not require calculus, so can i just take the easy math class that it requires or would it be wise to take calculus, or do i have to take calculus since i am in the college of natural sciences this year?</p>

<p>You don’t have to take calculus unless it is a pre-req for another class you want to take, or a concurrent pre-req. The ALEKS just told you what you qualify for. Some people score low and aren’t allowed to take calculus yet, as they have to learn some pre-cal or trig.</p>

<p>Just act like you’re in the school of nursing and take classes that count towards that degree. If they require you to be in that school to take (most probably do) then just take lots of your general education classes like Government or English.</p>

<p>Talk to your advisor, they should know what what classes you can take now that will count for nursing.</p>

<p>As a Nursing major you will be required to take SSC 302 - Data Analysis for Health Sciences. I believe that this is also a pre/co-requisite for the Chem and Bio courses you will need to take.<br>
