Does this schedule look managable for a freshman UF student?
I took AP Chem, AP Bio, AP Physics, and AP Calc BC in high school.
Semester 1 (15)
HUM 2305 What is the Good Life (GE-H) (3)
MAC 2312 Analytic Geometry and Calculus 2 (4)
CHM 2045 General Chemistry 1 (3) and CHM 2045L General Chemistry 1 Laboratory (1)
BSC 2010 Integrated Principles of Biology 1 (3) and BSC 2010L Integrated Principles of Biology Laboratory 1 (1)

Semester 2 (16)
MAC 2313 Analytic Geometry and Calculus 3 (4)
CHM 2046 General Chemistry 2 (3) and CHM 2046L General Chemistry 2 Laboratory (1)
BSC 2011 Integrated Principles of Biology 2 (3) and BSC 2011L Integrated Principles of Biology Laboratory 2 (1)
PHY 2053 Physics 1 (3) and PHY 2053L Laboratory for Physics 1 (1)

A more recent grad will give you a better answer, but with that being said,
The first semester seems fine, but you may want to re-think the 2nd semester. Three labs will be very time consuming (I always hated lab….all that work for one stupid credit…). You may want to push back Physics 1 (and its lab), till next year and replace it with an elective/humanities.
In fact, try to take one elective or humanities each semester, to balance out your core classes.
Are you a BME major? UF post recommended course plans for most of the majors. I’ll use BME as an example, but you should be able to find a recommend semester plan for your major… The following link leads to PRE-BME(the first two years).

http://undergraduate.bme.ufl.edu/sites/default/files/BS-BME%20Pre.pdf

BME’s don’t take Bio 2, here is the recommend 2nd semester:

Credits Class
4 Analytical Geometry and Calculus 2
3 General Chemistry and Quantitative analysis */CHM2096
1 General Chemistry and Quant Anal Lab CHM2096L/CHM2054L
3 Physics with Calculus 1 *
1 Laboratory for PHY2048 PHY2064L
1 Introduction to Biomedical Engineering
3 Humanities/Social & Behavioral Sciences
Term Credits 16

They dropped Bio 2 (and it’s lab), and added humanities (and the one credit intro to BME).

Good luck!

Just thought I would ask…did your AP chem score allow you to earn credit for Chem 1 at UF? I know the counselors try to encourage students to take courses that they tested out of but they do not typically base that on the individual student. If you did well in AP chem (requires score of 4 or higher to get credit for Chem 1) and feel ready for Chem 2 you could consider taking Chem 2 with the CHM 2054L Accelerated General Chemistry Laboratory which is equivalent to taking labs for chem 1 and 2 together. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you are a motivated student, but it could save you from having such a heavy load of science labs in your second semester.
