I am currently attending University At Buffalo but I plan on transferring out due to a major change of interest. I don't think I want to pursue comp engineering/comp sci as a major.

Would anyone be kind enough to give me tips so that I could smoothly be able transfer out if I still want to?

For example:
what are credits that I can surely transfer out?
general education requirement throughout colleges(Majority in NY, SUNY)- will there be differences between each college's requirements
Walk-through process?

also, I have till september 3 to change my classes and Nov 8 to resign classes.

I go to Buffalo University too. I am a sophomore and looking to transfer out at the end of the semester, so were kind of in the same boat and you can msg me if you want. As far as your question, it really depends on the school your looking to transfer to and their requirements. I think all of your credits should transfer to the new school as long as the school offers a course of the same degree. Again this depends on the school your looking to transfer too and if you wanted to you can talk to a counselor at the new school so he/she can guide you on credit transfers. Also, as your still only a freshman and you don’t have many credits yet your going to have to re-send all of your SAT/ACT scores and high school transcript.

You have to do research more on your part as every school is different though.

dont listen to those people^^^
im in the same boat, different school. the school is just not the right environment for me. basically you have to look at the new schools requirements and most likely youll have to send your highschool transcripts as well. good luck!

You really are not qualified to advise anyone in terms of transferring so telling the OP to not listen to people who really know what they are talking about (Sikorsky & Erin’s dad) is not doing him/her any favors.

You really need to calm down. Maybe you should have gone to your school’s football game tonight; they beat Va Tech 30-10 so I’ll bet there are some parties you can check out :).

but you are? sorry. no car, cant get there. tickets also arent free you know. thanks for letting me in on there was a game tonight or i would have had no idea!!! i was just letting the OP know that some people feel the same way they do. how do Sikorsky & Erins dad have justifiable input but i don’t? once again, your posting is irrelevant to everyone on here.

jesssicaaa, How you say something does make a difference. This:

Comes across very differently from this:

Of course it’s your choice in how you want to word your comments or how you choose to respond to those who don’t agree with you.

Sikorsky & Erin’s Dad have been giving excellent advice/information here for a long time, you can see their posting histories by clicking on their member names.

p.s. I just wanted to add, I’m the parent of a soph transfer. I told D1 to give her school a chance and try to make it work, at least until winter break. It wasn’t meant to deny her feelings/thoughts about the school, but nothing can be done until then anyhow (getting fall sem LORs, etc.) and as discussed in another thread, while transferring may be the best choice, it’s not easy (more applications & essays, college LORs, telling friends, making new friends, cost, etc.).
