Hey people on CC I am in a transferring crisis. I need advice.

I am currently attending a CUNY-City Tech school. I have high grades (3.943/4.0 GPA) and am a honors student within my school (I am also a URM). I want to transfer out but I do not think I am financially able to. Should I just give up and accept the fact that I will not go to any good schools?

The schools I am applying to are Syracuse University, NYU, SUNY-University at Buffalo and SUNY-Stony Brook. I heard Syracuse is transfer friendly with aid. I know NYU is not that transfer friendly with aid and probably will not attempt to even apply to the school anymore due to the lack of aid; however, I have heard of success stories of successful transfers receiving substantial amounts of aid. I am not sure about Buffalo or Stony Brook financially.

Are there any schools that give our generous aid to transfer that have respectful programs in electrical engineering? I am desperate for help. Thanks for reading and god bless. It means alot.

Have you run the net price calculators on each of the schools’ web sites to get financial aid estimates? Ideally, you should have done so before making your application list.

NYU has a reputation of poor financial aid in general, although the recently acquired Polytechnic that is now NYU engineering had good financial aid before the merger. Run the net price calculator to see what the estimate is like.

I want to wait and get the next tax return before I run any net price analysis for the schools I wish to apply to. Thanks for responding by the way.
