Freshman Year GPA

Hey, I want to go to a University in Florida, and my weighted GPA =.4 for honors and .8 for AP is 3.0333 at the end of fresh man year. Some colleges I’m looking at are UF, UCF, FSU, UM, USF. Im really stressed because i don’t think ill get into some of them, does anyone know if these colleges are forgiving of freshman year, or if I can bring it up in time for Application time. I attend a Private Prep school if that changes anything. The first semester I really slacked off, but next semester I stepped it up, and I don’t ever plan on getting another C in high school , maybe a few Bs, but from here on out, I plan on working as hard as I can to bring my GPA up, and Im in a good amount of clubs, and participate in a good amount of volunteering outside of school, and I’m taking SAT classes from Freshman summer until I take it. Thanks, any advice/help/tips are appreciated.

Yes, colleges do like to see an upward trend from your Freshman year. Focus on improving your GPA, put some time studying for the ACT/SAT test (take them for the first time, early your junior year), and EC’s and you should be able to make it (or at least be very competitive) into most of your targeted schools.
