Freshman Year GPA

Hey, I want to go to a University in Florida, and my weighted GPA =.4 for honors and .8 for AP is 3.0333 at the end of fresh man year. Some colleges I'm looking at are UF, UCF, FSU, UM, USF. Im really stressed because i don't think ill get into some of them, does anyone know if these colleges are forgiving of freshman year, or if I can bring it up in time for Application time. I attend a Private Prep school if that changes anything. The first semester I really slacked off, but next semester I stepped it up, and I don't ever plan on getting another C in high school , maybe a few Bs, but from here on out, I plan on working as hard as I can to bring my GPA up, and Im in a good amount of clubs, and participate in a good amount of volunteering outside of school, and I'm taking SAT classes from Freshman summer until I take it. Thanks, any advice/help/tips are appreciated.

Your weighted GPA is way too low for UF. They care about GPA more than anything else and the average weighted GPA is a 4.3. UF is gonna be a reach for you, even if you are in state if you keep this up. They do look at freshman year, so they will see this. It’s easy to plan on doing well, but you have to actually do it. Don’t say “maybe a few B’s here and there”. Strive for A’s. And you shouldn’t be satisfied until you get them.
