Is this possible? I heard that it is, but I was wondering if someone could confirm this and by older I don't mean by age. I mean by year of school.

It probably doesn't happen very often. Back in the day at the U of Detroit, my roommate was a transfer student in his 3rd year of a 5-year engineering program, so we were both new to the school. It was cool because he had a car and we could get off campus and cruise the city.

possible but unlikely.

I've seen several instances of this. It usually happens when two returning students get a triple with a random 3rd roommate, which gets filled by an incoming freshman.

It shouldn't be too much of a problem even if it happens, the rooms that I knew like this all got along well.

I don't know anyone who's been paired or tripled with an older roommate.

i've seen an instance of this and the situation was how brandnew2 described it.
