Freshmen in BA/MD programs update. How is it so far?

Just curious, to all those who began their chosen BA/MD programs, how do you like it so far? Are you happy with your decision? If you had to do it again, would you choose the same program? It would be interesting to hear from you guys. Personally, my son is very happy at Sophie davis. He took an apt nearby so he can concentrate on his studies. The program is intense from the start, but all the students seem helpful and friendly.

I’m doing well at Stony Brook. The workload is tough but the magnitude of the sense of security that you have a spot in med school really doesn’t hit you until you actually start college. An enormous number of kids here are premed and Scholars for Medicine students are generally very highly regarded around campus, especially by professors. If anybody has any questions feel free to ask, I’m constantly checking the Multiple Degree Programs forum for news about the next batch of BS/MD applicants.

college hasnt started yet :-)

Anybody else? I’m curious, too.

I’m a 2nd year at Nova’s BS/MD program with Drexel.

Pretty good so far. Rarely anyone gets below a 3.5. I sometimes put added stress on myself because I still have the high school mentality of doing as well as possible and trying to get the highest grade possible, but if I don’t do as well as I had hoped on a quiz, it’s really nice to just say to yourself “It’s alright dude, as long as you don’t get below a C for the class, you’re good”

No regrets thus far. Have a group of great friends to hang around with and the school itself is a pretty respectable undergrad with a great sense of community. Can’t wait for basketball season to start up. Go Nova!

I’m applying to Nova’s BS/MD in a couple of weeks! I really want to get in, I love the school so much! How was the interview? (if I even get to that point).

there is no interview with the school, but there is an interview with drexel med school. The person I interviewed with was really awesome and he’s a pretty famous neurologist apparently so that was certainly an awesome experience. Relax about the interview. Just convey that you are a nice person who is going to medicine for the right reason.
