What should I expected as freshmen in CC? I know it's not much fun as usual four year college, but could I maximize my stay there? Is there any fun in CC? Is there Club? What should I look for? Thanks anything helps.

Community Colleges vary widely in what they offer socially. You could start by going through their website. Our daughter (15) is starting CC next week. They do have clubs, a student center and a very nice campus. But it isn't residential so there aren't the connections that you'd have at a four-year school.

Its pretty boring. I did 2 yrs at a JC, so I know. After classes are over, most people go home or to work. Also, theres a lot of older returning students who have family to worry about. So its safe to say that you won't be making any meaningful connections with them. If you want maximize your experience there , join a club or play sports.

dude, sign up for student council, even if you've never had any student gov't background. if you expect to transfer to a 4-year, then it's a great EC to put on college applications, resumes, AND scholarship applications. plus, at CC, it's a pretty easy job. there's not a whole lot to do (at least there wasn't at my CC and i was on the student gov't for 2 years). keep in mind, that i am in no way a pol.sci major or a business major or anything.

other than that, yeah don't expect an amazing social life, unless you try really hard outside of school and/or you're especially outgoing. good luck though!

At community colleges you just have to be more assertive and creative... if you can satisfy an associates with "easy" classes, remember that you're aspiring to bigger and better things and choose hard ones...start a club when you find out one doesn't exist. These are common sense things that unfortunately a lot of my community college friends just didn't do and now regret. There are some students who are driven, a lot who aren't...don't get comfortable living up to the later's standards.

I met plenty of people in my classes, you will be able to make friends if you are sociable. Keep in mind it's not anything like a university, but don't worry.. if you want to meet people you will.
