Freshmen Year Over, How did I do?

Hey everybody,

I am a freshmen and just wanted to ask you guys about how I did, I am in a competitive public school in Wisconsin(Don't know if that helps). My dream colleges are Stanford, MIT, Harvard, Carnegie Mellon, and UC Berkley. I am extremely passionate in computer science and plan on majoring in that. I have my own business that develops iOS/Android applications, mostly games but I am planning some utilities.

EC:
Debate - Top 6 in State(Top 4 in School, we have a good debate team, next year I will be Top 2 in state since 4 seniors will graduate making more room for me to go to nationals next year.)

Forensics (Public Speaking) - Poor performance this year due to a bad speech but will be better next year, probably will get top at state. (Will not go to nationals because you have to pick forensics or debate and I picked debate)

Future Business Leaders of America - 3rd in State for Game Programming (One away from going to nationals. Grrr)

Robotics - Just a programmer on the team

Science Olympiad - State participant

ACT (1st Time): 30, Math 35, Science 34, English 27, Reading 24 (I need to work on english and reading)
For this ACT I got the Northwestern Talent Search Award, it is the top 1.5% of the 9th graders who took the test through NUMATS. There are about 18,000 who took it through NUMATS.

SAT: Will be taking it on June 2

AP: AP Computer Science, Pretty sure I got a 5 but maybe a 4 if I am unlucky

Volunteering: None :( I don't really enjoy volunteering much.

Passion: COMPUTER SCIENCE! I love it, I first started programming in 4th Grade when I was introduced to a program called Game Maker. The idea of using logic to create actions on the computer amazed me. Since I was a kid I always thought of ways how people could make a game or product better on the computer, I always wanted to make my own version of everything out there.

Pleae give me some advice, bump

Not to burst your bubble but Freshman year is your least important year. If you put that kind of effort into the next 2 years you shouldn’t have too much of a problem getting into great schools. Why are you taking your SAT and ACT so early?

I know that freshmen year is a little early but I just want to make sure I am on the right path. You see my parents and my family know nothing about education is the US. So we have to ask others about what I am doing is the right thing to do. Sorry if this post was not appropriate.

Also I am taking the SAT and ACT early for two reasons, the first is I can get an award from Northwestern my freshmen year for scoring 35 or 36 in reading, math, or composite. The second reason is I want to see what these types of tests are like. I have never taken a standardized test like this before. I was blown away by the way the AP tests work when I took one in May. I don’t know if you will understand this, but I have to figure everything out on my own.

please anyone… I really want to know how I am doing

You really shouldn’t rush things too early. You’re only a Freshman, you have THREE more years. Overall, I think you’re doing fine.

Start volunteering this summer! Extra-curriculars and service are a big part of what colleges look for- they prove that you are someone that will contribute to their community not only academically (which you seem to be outstanding in, by the way.) And it doesn’t have to be menial or tedious work; do what you love! You could throw together a computer science day or 3-day camp for younger kids about programming and make it an annual ordeal. It’s best to start now while you have some free time on vacation and the majority of your high school course load hasn’t really set in yet. But good luck!

Thanks a lot @gkarlovich

I will try to do some community service that connects with my passion, thanks for the advice
