I am a freshman at University of Michigan studying computer science in the college of engineering . I was wondering which scholarships I have a good shot at being a winner for and which ones don’t have that much competition. I’m African American. Thanks so much for the help.
You are currently a freshman at Michigan?
Do you currently HAVE a scholarship? How much were you hoping to get?
I would think there is a slim chance of you getting any scholarship money as a returning student…except maybe a small departmental scholarship if you are a tippy top student. They will all be competitive! VERY competitive.
How would we have ANY way of answering your questions without knowing your grades?
First of all, update your scholarship profile on Wolverine Access. That is critical for finding matching scholarships.
Most, if not all, department scholarships require the demonstration of need at UMich. The amount is likely between $1500 to $3000. There are also some other small non-departnent scholarships. Not sure what are the criteria but my D1 got it on top of the engineering and departmental scholarships last couple years. I think that is based on the profile and financial need.
