I've heard a lot of different things about some students not having classes on Fridays... can someone clarify this for me?

Most students don't have classes on Fridays. The exceptions that I know of are introductory language classes (like french) that are Monday through Friday as well as labs, but I'm sure there are others.

^^true.

There aren't many Friday classes at Columbia, and it's fairly simple to structure your schedule so that you don't have Friday classes for 4 years.

In addition to the ones mentioned by undisclosed, you may have Friday recitations--those are discussion sections for classes like bio and chem where you have to sign up for one (just throwing that in here, I'm not sure what your area of interest is--it depends from class to class). You could have make-up classes on friday as well.

been at columbia multiple years, never had a friday class, never intend to have one either.

I had French on Friday but I had the option of having it on M,Tu,Th instead of Tu,Th,Fr. My chem lab was on fri also.

are you a masochist?

I had bio lab on fridays sophomore year. It was a terrible idea. Hangover + dead pigs + Formaldehyde = not happy cerberus :(

hahaha. thanks for your feedback everyone.

Formaldehyde fumes= hangover's cure

The idea behind the Friday classes is that students will be able to work at internships and whatnot.

Our idea? Finish homework.

Or workstudy. I reserve Sundays to finish/start homework.
