she realized this weekend that she did not send in her official SAT scores through collegeboard and thus, her app is incomplete. suprisingly, she was not notified about an incomplete app as most other colleges do, so she is freaking out.

her whole app is complete except the official SAT scores, though i'm sure UT has the sat scores through the official school transcript and self-reporting.

does anyone have suggestions for her? i told her to call the admissions office, which she did today during lunch, and said she got a busy tone. i'm thinking email is the next best thing to do. what should she do? is it her fault? and if so, is there any leniency b/c it's not like they don't know her SAT score, they just haven't received the "official numbers from collegeboard."

btw, she's not top 10% and hoped to get either CAPed or summer sessioned. do you think they even looked at her app? thanks guys! she's a really good friend, and i didn't know what else to tell her.

I had a similar situation with my High School transcript, but its important to know where the blame lies...

Did she request SAT scores before, or did she simply forget to do them?

If its the former have another SAT score set sent next-day to the Admissions Office and send an appeal to the undergrad office (with proof that she sent her scores before the deadline) before the week is over, with evidence behind her she should be OK.

If she simply forgot to request scores, things are so cheerful, if she still REALLY wants UT then I would still recomend rushing those scores and sending an appeal stating that it with all the stress of applications or w/e the excuse is, and asking for consideration to be CAP'd or Summer School'd if nothing else... make sure she does all this ASAP, an admissions officer told me TODAY that even if appeals are after this week + a few days, decisions are irreversible even with a solid appeal... so get on it ASAP.

(Also call the admissions office, just b/c you get 1-busy signal doesn't mean you should stop keep try, email will just slow things down because both sides will have questions that can be more easily addressed over the phone rather than email)
