haha maybe s/he enjoys SAT problems =O

If you have the money....I think private tutoring is the best way to boost scores. But of course you have to couple that with independent study

yeah private tutoring helps, only if you are also self motivated. if you're not, it doesn't work at all. i kno a lot of rich unmotivated kids getting privately tutored and they still suck like always.

read a lot, and do bb questions

is there any point of retaking the sat in college if you want transfer to a top uni?
I have a pretty lame grade ( for the ivies) and an excellent gpa. Want to know if i should retake it.

2350 SAT is great, but remember every great college looks at the whole pic, so that score will mean less if you neglected to do EC's and your grades suffered or you are not taking the hardest courses available.

If you look the college threads that you desire to go to, you will see the acceptances overwhelmingly show kids with EC's, such as sports, jobs anc community services along with AP's. So if you are studying 4 1/2 hrs., play a sport(avg kid gets home from sports is 6, have dinner, do 2 hrs of hw, and study for SAT), I figure you are going to bed @ 12 at night every night. Then also how can you study for your AP test on top of that?

Don't mean to be negative, just feel that the 2400 SAT is not the be all and colleges do look at other things. No sour grapes, DS already got accepted to Honors programs for his college choices and he had over 2100.

exactly thats what i meant when said i wud never do that lol

thanks for answering my question. lame.

Gruber is the best, its improving my math, critical reading, and writing scores... mainly math and critical reading(the areas i need improving on)

Are you from America?

So you guys would recommend Gruber for M and CR?

Good Call charnae91, a lot of international students from Asia (for example) have poor CR Scores
