From 4-year to CC to UC

Right now I'm at a 4-year university in Nevada and will be a sophomore this fall. I'm really determined to make it into UCSD or UCI. I have the option of starting at CC this Monday in California. I have an advantage if I stay in California (that's what I've been told) and apply to a UC as opposed to applying as an out-of-state student. I could save money by going to CC but I'm risking leaving behind volunteering at a cancer lab in Nevada for the chance of gaining the advantage of transferring as a community college student. I know in the end it's about great grades and ECs, but I'm not sure if I should just take the risk and leave my current college. I hope someone can offer an opinion or some advice.

not only would you get a HUGE increase in priority, you’d be able to sign TAG with UCSD, and also you’d be paying instate tuition by the time you transfer.

thanks! i forgot about TAG. i’ll definitely look into it. hopefully i’d be able to get that instate tuition if all goes well.
