<p>I will be visiting W&L. I will be flying into the charlottesville airport (CHO). However, I am not old enough to rent a car. The taxis/shuttles are $150+ each way.</p>
<p>Does anyone have experience or know of a good & cheep way to get to W&L from CHO?</p>
<p>did you already purchase your ticket? Better to fly into Roanoke or Lynchburg. When will you be visiting?</p>
<p>Well the flight that gets me to the W&L area by the needed time goes to CHO only. I looked at the other surrounding airports but there are no flights that work for me.
I have not made flight reservations yet because if I cannot get transportation from CHO to W&L I will have to drive instead of flying.</p>
<p>Dulles (IAD) is a pretty big hub for United, and there are flights from Dulles to Roanoke. Delta also has Atlanta to ROA routes, and Detroit to ROA routes. There is a pretty good private transportation company to get from ROA to campus. PM me and I’ll get you the telephone number. You have to reserve ahead of time.</p>

<p>You can take a Greyhound from Charlottesville to Lexington, but it takes almost 2 hours I think. To return to Charlottesville, the bus first goes to Lynchburg, as I recall, so that’s a big pain.</p>
<p>Depending on how far away you live driving might actually be the best option.</p>
<p>Greyhound is a great idea! However, when I went on their website, Lexington, VA did not come up as an option. Are you sure there are bus routes from CHO to Lexington, VA? From what I found there are not. </p>
